What data we use and why

Partner shops

We use the name, email and phone number of your contact people to discuss and run our cooperation and to issue invoices. Legal basis: our contract with the shop and our legal invoicing obligations. We keep this data while we work together and for 3 years after; invoices, for as long as accounting law requires.

Shop customers we deliver to

The shop sends us the name, delivery address, phone number and order number. At handover, we add the signed handover form and photos of the bike. For this data, the controller is the shop you bought from; we use it only on the shop’s behalf, to assemble and deliver the bike and to prove the handover. We keep the handover form and photos for 3 years after delivery, the general period for legal claims, and then delete them.

People who write to us or call us

We use the data in your message only to reply, and keep it as long as the conversation needs it. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in answering requests.

Website visitors

We use no analytics and no advertising. The site stores a single cookie that remembers your chosen language for one year. Cloudflare, which hosts the site, processes your IP address to deliver and protect the site.

Who else sees the data

Only the providers we cannot work without: Google (email), Cloudflare (website hosting) and SmartBill (invoicing). Data may also go to public authorities when the law requires it. We do not sell or rent data. Google and Cloudflare may also process data in the USA, under the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework or the European Commission’s standard contractual clauses.

Your rights

You can ask us to show, correct or delete your data, to limit or stop how we use it, or to give it to you in a format you can take elsewhere. Write to contact@boxtobike.ro; we reply within one month. We do not make automated decisions based on your data.

If you are not satisfied, you can complain to the Romanian data protection authority (ANSPDCP), dataprotection.ro.
